    Thanks to their small size, buffalo worms are ideal for feeding insectivorous chicks from hatching. They can be offered live, stimulating the natural feeding instinct of parent birds, or as a mash, making them easier for growing chicks to ingest. Their high nutritional value (rich in protein, fats, calcium, vitamins and minerals) makes them an excellent boost for chick growth and feather development. They are generally more digestible than mealworms.

    Although particularly beneficial for insectivorous birds, buffalo worms can also be introduced into the diet of some granivorous species, such as finches, thrushes and canaries, to diversify their feeding. Please note that these insects should be offered as a supplement and not as a main food, as a diet too rich in fat can be harmful to some bird species.
