The cat is a strict carnivore, biologically much more demanding in animal proteins than the dog. Its organism depends on precise intakes of taurine, arachidonic acid, and preformed vitamin A; all nutrients it cannot synthesize from plant sources. It is this physiological specificity that guides every reference in our Cat Food section.
Saint Laurent applies the same nutritional logic to domestic cats as for the wild felines it feeds in zoological parks: priority to identifiable animal proteins, control of carbohydrates, and the possibility to introduce raw meat for owners who want a more natural diet.
The feline BARF differs from the canine BARF in its composition: the proportion of raw meat is higher (75-85% compared to 70-80% for dogs), with a strict supply of taurine. Our workshop offers ground poultry, hearts, chicken necks, and white meats in suitable packaging: 500 g bags for individual consumption, boxes of 5 to 20 kg for breeders, shelters, or pet stores. All our raw products for cats come from controlled sources and are packaged while respecting the negative cold chain.
A good cat kibble can be recognized by three criteria: a crude protein content ≥ 30%, a clearly named first animal source (and not a vague "meats and by-products"), and a moderate carbohydrate level. We select recipes suitable for kittens, adults, seniors, and specific profiles (neutered, indoor, urinary sensitivity, weight control). The chosen brands comply with AAFCO and FEDIAF recommendations regarding taurine intake.
For the pregnant or nursing cat, the senior cat, the recovering cat, or the long-haired cat, certain supplements make a difference: L-lysine for immune support, omega-3 for coat and joints, probiotics for digestion, taurine supplements for raw diets, multivitamin blends for outdoor cats exposed to seasonal stress.
